ITINERARY
Pre Accommodation
To get the most out of this Safari we highly recommend a pre-night accommodation in Arusha, which we can arrange for you. Often we use hotels such as The Outpost or Kibo Palace Hotel. This ensures you don't miss the first game drive safari.
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Welcome! This morning we will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha accommodation and take a cultural drive to Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for a picnic lunch. There is a great diversity of wildlife including Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Giraffes, Monkeys and a numerous variety of absolutely beautiful birds. The scenery provides a stunning backdrop for photographs. You will arrive at your Lodge in time for Sundowners overlooking the Park as the animals freely roam.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
As we journey across Great Rift Valley for a full game drive in Lake Manyara, we think of Ernest Hemingway describing the setting as "the loveliest I had seen in Africa" and when you see it for yourself you'll understand why. Lake Manyara is home to a large number of hippos and don't forget to look up for the elusive tree climbing Lion!
Day 3: Lake Eyasi - The Hadzabe & Datoga Tribes
This morning we visit the Hadzabe Tribe, one of the last known true Hunter and Gatherer tribes, living solely off the land. You can also visit the Datoga Tribe, the Blacksmiths, watching them make jewellery. A truly unique experience. This afternoon we drive a short distance to Karatu where you will spend the night.
Days 4 to 7: Serengeti National Park
Today you will continue your journey to the Northern Serengeti in search of the Great Migration. The plan for the next few days will be decided between your Guide and yourselves. The Serengeti means "endless plains" and that is what you will experience, vast, raw and largely untouched. The Mara River is close by and is where the Migration gather to cross in their masses, heading to greener grases. Witnessing the herds is a spectacle itself, a river crossing the ultimate!
Day 8: Serengeti Game Drive & Farewell
A last breakfast in the Serengeti before we take you to Kogatende Airport to fly out, either back to Arusha, onto Zanzibar or wherever your next destination is. By now we trust that Tanzania will have gotten under your skin and touched your heart. Memories will last a lifetime.
